Monkey Beetle

Hoplia sp.

Description:

Gray Scarab beetle with brown, fuzzy hairs on the head, cephalothorax, and elytra. The end of the abdomen has gray, fuzzy hairs. The elytra are shorter than the wide abdomen which exposes the gray hairs. It was about 10mm long and wasn't very active. Unfortunately it didn't show its antennae so I don't know the number of segments.

Habitat:

Tiny daisy flower in garden surrounded by oak woodland.
