Blatta orientalis
Blatta orientalis Linnaeus, 1758. This Cockroach had just moulted when I saw it, a few inches away from its exuvia on the bark of a Mango tree, down at the roots, near the ground. The exuvia, shown in the last photo, is dark brown in colour, as we expect of a cockroach. However, when newly moulted, a roach is almost white as you can see in the first five photos.
Spotted in our backyard on the bark of a Mango Tree.
I think that this cockroach is a male because it has fairly long wings. According to Wikipedia, the females (which can't fly) have much shorter wings.
