Atractomorpha psittacina psittacina
Atractomorpha psittacina psittacina, the Slant-faced Grasshopper, is almost entirely green which makes it quite difficult to spot when it sits on green foliage. However, despite the lack of contrasting colours, my photos (especially the last two cropped pictures) show that this specimen is not yet fully adult. Its wings are not yet completely developed and it will probably not be able to fly for about another week.
This Slant-faced Grasshopper was spotted in our backyard vegetable plot, on an Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.), commonly called Talong in the Philippines. Plant information from - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Talong.html..........
The following link confirms of the presence of this subspecies in the Philippines -http://orthoptera.archive.speciesfile.org/Common/editTaxon/Distribution/ShowDistribution.aspx?TaxonNameID=1120410.....
