Red-shouldered Hawk

Buteo lineatus

Habitat:

live in bottomland hardwood stands, flooded deciduous swamps, and upland mixed deciduous–conifer forests and in some suburban areas where houses or other buildings are mixed into woodlands.

Notes:

It's the season. Saw many today throughout the park perched on the sides of the road. This one was conveniently on a sign where I could take the photo from my car window.
