Poecile atricapillus
The chickadees and juncos were the first to show up at my feeders during a recent snowstorm. these small songbirds are non-migratory and stay around all year here in Washington state. Easily recognized by their black cap and chin, which contrast with their white cheeks. Slate gray back and wings with buffy underparts.
Spotted in my backyard. Lots of large trees and understory.

I've just posted a song for you on Sounds Like, Brian. I had no idea what a black-capped chickadee looked like until now, but is it any wonder it's one a Kate Pierson's favourite things? That and tomatoes! So cute :)
Thank you, Lisa. I was happy it posed for me.
Nice series! Beautiful photography!
Thanks, Neil for the kind comment.
A little cutie :)
