A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
cheilomenes lunata
A medium sized body around 8mm. They usually present with a more redish color but this one sticks out of the crowd with a shiny yellow/orange. Like all ladybirds, they favour aphids but are especially useful with wheat aphids. Larvae remain on eggs when hatched and use the egg as a first meal.
A diverse habitat but common in gardens.
